photosphotographers

ala nickolodean game shows, visual artist Alison Brady brings us a more adult version of the most exciting thing that happened on children’s television in my childhood.

Photobucket

more than just her double dare recreation, she’s got an array of somewhat morbidly fascinating and mind-fuckling work in her portfolio.

Those hands! There is a handwritten description on back of photo.

Yashica Update

The meter doesn’t work for shit, there’s a dysfunction in the curtain at the fastest shutter speed and my instant gratification type personality has spent more on processing, by almost four times, than I spent on the damn camera itself.
I love my couch change Yashica.

I’ve been using my DSLR to meter for exposure. Works well with expensive film.

thanks to hollister hovey, brooklyn’s lovely lady with a penchant for hunting regalia, riding helmets and velvet slippers, i’ve been turned onto the impossible project: re-inventing insta-film. they’ve purchased polaroid’s machinery and leased their building in the netherlands to create a new instant film that is fully compatible with polaroid cameras. they need your help. let them know how you can help at their website.

photos borrowed from flickr ‘polaroid’ (pool). various photographers.

while  google image searching for bruce gilden’s street photography, i came across this article about the british DIY youtube superstar, tricia walsh-smith. i don’t have much to say about her you tube sensation other than her “fame” led her to fulfill her obvious need for attention with several music videos and a possible reality tv show in the works.

out of sheer train wreck like curiosity (and neeeeeeed for something else to help me procrastinate) i was perusing the guestbook on her website and while there are a few death threats, nasty comments and more than a few requests for dates and observations of her legs, there’s a woman who has offered her services just in case ms. walsh-smith wants to “wright” a book.

mine yashica fx-2 by you.

I picked up a Yashica FX-2 for the bargain price of $25. And it actually works!!!

I looked it up on ebay and found that the ones that still work are priced right around $300 without a lens. Mine came with a Fiddy Milli, what! what!

Stay tuned for some souls or totally mundane junk captured with this brick.
