Look familiar?

Eternally remembered for his role in Napoleon Dynamite, (which by now is surely more of an annoyance than anything else.) Aaron Ruell is also an accomplished writer, director, and photographer. Ruell has a distinct visual aesthetic, marred in 70s nostalgia, reveling in simplicity, midwestern americana and deadpan humor. And it translates beautifully across all mediums.

For more of Ruell’s photography press on these words.

Ruell is also a well established commercial director, represented by the prestigious Biscuit Filmworks, for which he has created some hilarious and memorable work for clients such as, McDonalds, Burger King, Virgin Mobile, and Gatorade.

“Personal Style” – Virgin Mobile

“Shooting With Wade” – Gatorade

“Inner Cowboy” – Burger King

my personal favorite, “Filet O Fish” – McDonalds

But all of this aside, here’s why I really love him:

“I don’t want any type of fame or fortune or anything like that. I’ve never had my eyes set on that. The ideal life for me is simply to be able to make the films that I want to make…”

And I for one certainly hope he continues to do so.
